FAQ

Are sauna suits supposed to be worn in a sauna?

No. Sauna suits create a sauna-like effect while you are doing cardio or weight training. You should not wear a sauna suit while in a sauna, as it could cause dangerously low hydration levels.

Do sauna suits help you lose fat?

Absolutely! Contrary to popular belief, sauna suits help you lose water weight and fat by increasing your metabolism and improving Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) for caloric burning that extends beyond your 45-minute workout. For more information check out our How It Works page.

Why are NonZero Gravity sauna suits better than conventional sauna suits?

While most traditional sauna suits are made of a plastic-like material, NonZero Gravity sauna suits are constructed of comfortable, flexible neoprene that lasts longer and fits better. They hold in heat while allowing you to move freely through any workout.

What is neoprene?

Neoprene is a common synthetic rubber used traditionally in wetsuits. Its high flexibility makes it an ideal fabric for working out.

Are sauna suits only for cutting water weight?

Sauna suits are great for cutting weight, but they do much more than that. By increasing your core temperature, they can also improve metabolic rates, improve flexibility, maximize muscle performance and lengthen Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC).

What does EPOC stand for?

EPOC stands for Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption. In essence, it is the amount of oxygen our body uses after a workout. The more oxygen you consume, the more calories you burn at a resting state. Wearing a sauna suit extends EPOC so you burn more calories post-workout while at a resting state.

What types of workouts can sauna suits be used for?

Sauna suits can be used for any form of workout, including running, yoga, MMA, wrestling, boxing, weight training, cycling and more.

Are sauna suits only for athletes?

Not at all. Anyone can benefit from wearing a sauna suit, whether they’ve been training for years or are just starting out. Overall, make sure to listen to your body and slow down if necessary.

Is using a sauna suit dangerous?

Wearing a sauna suit is not dangerous if used correctly. Always make sure to stay hydrated and slow down if necessary. If you are unsure if a sauna suit is right for you, consult your doctor.

How much weight can you lose wearing a sauna suit?

In a 2017 study conducted by Western State Colorado University and sponsored by the American Council of Exercise (ACE), individuals who wore sauna suits while working out saw a 2.6 percent reduction in body weight, compared to a 0.9 percent reduction seen by those who did not wear a sauna suit but were on the same workout plan. However, because everyone’s bodies are so different, there is no way to set a specific number that can be achieved. As with any tool, sauna suits are not a singlehanded form of weight loss and should be paired with a healthy diet and persistent fitness routine.

Will I gain weight back as soon as I drink water?

Yes, water weight does come back after you replenish fluids. However, sauna suits also aid in long-term fat loss, increased metabolism, better muscle performance, better flexibility and reduced chances of injury. Cutting water weight is primarily beneficial for competitive athletes attempting to make it into a specific weight class, such as wrestling or boxing.

How should I wash my NonZero Gravity sauna suit?

Great question! To ensure a long lifespan for your NonZero Gravity sauna suit, hand-wash it in cold water. Lay it flat to dry in a place that is out of direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry, dry clean or iron your sauna suit.

How should my sauna suit fit?

Your sauna suit should fit snug, but not tight. You should be able to move freely, but a closer fit is ideal to maximize the amount of heat retention and minimize space for the heat to escape.
